Peoples Trust Company and Koho Go to Market with Smart Spending Account

Peoples Trust has launched with Koho, a Vancouver-based fintech company, to deliver a modern, mobile, no-fee spending account to millennials. After a 12-month beta program, Koho now offers Canadians a Smart Spending Account and branded Visa prepaid card issued by Peoples Trust. Peoples Trust provides comprehensive issuing services for reloadable and single-load open-loop prepaid cards, BIN sponsorship, regulatory expertise and market guidance to help fintechs, like Koho, establish, launch and grow card programs across Canada.

Seven Currencies, One Cash Passport

Mastercard and Canada Post, with collaboration from Payment Source Inc. and Peoples Trust Company, have launched Cash Passport, the latest payment solution for smart and simple travel. The contactless (tap) card, which allows you to load up to seven currencies at a time, is a convenient and secure alternative to pockets full of cash or travelers' cheques and can be used at millions of ATMs and merchants worldwide anywhere Mastercard is accepted. Cash Passport can be purchased using cash or debit at 2,600 Canada Post locations and reloaded at 6,000 locations or online at www.cashpassport.ca.
